Research Grant
IMPULSE DYNAMICS supports global investigator-initiated studies (IIS) to advance independent research with scientific merits that may lead to improved patient care, healthcare delivery, and clinical outcomes for heart failure patients. Results of the studies are usually intended for publication in peer-reviewed medical journals and/or presentation at medical congresses.
Our IIS program will consider all research proposals with scientific merits to advance the understanding and treatment of heart failure. Our current research interests are outlined below.
IIS AREAS OF RESEARCH INTEREST
- Effect of Cardiac Contractility Modulation (CCM) therapy on atrial/ventricular arrhythmia burden, including:
-
- impact of CCM assessed by events (ICD therapy)
- impact of CCM on need of subsequent interventions (e.g. ablation, cardioversion)
- impact of CCM on AF/VT ablation efficacy
- Chronic implantable pulmonary arterial pressure changes post-CCM implant
- Objective changes post CCM implant on foundational GDMT and diuretic usages
- Impact of CCM therapy on heart failure events (e.g. 30-day re-admission, healthy days at home, heart failure encounters)
- Outcomes associated with early CCM intervention
- Effect of CCM therapy on diastolic dysfunction (where indicated per IFU)
- Health economic assessment (Europe)
Additional research ideas from the listed topics may be considered based on unmet medical need and evidence gap assessments.
All IIS proposals will be assessed for alignment with CCM global coverage strategy
Full submission
Full protocol and itemized budget required for formal review
Preliminary review
Preliminary feedback of interest of a specific study topic. Only protocol synopsis or brief study description required. Favorable feedback on preliminary review does not indicate final study approval
