Research Grant

IMPULSE DYNAMICS supports global investigator-initiated studies (IIS) to advance independent research with scientific merits that may lead to improved patient care, healthcare delivery, and clinical outcomes for heart failure patients. Results of the studies are usually intended for publication in peer-reviewed medical journals and/or presentation at medical congresses.

Our IIS program will consider all research proposals with scientific merits to advance the understanding and treatment of heart failure. Our current research interests are outlined below.

AREAS OF RESEARCH INTEREST

  • Effect and/or mechanism of action of Cardiac Contractility Modulation (CCM) therapy in reduction of atrial or ventricular arrhythmias
  • Acute to 6-month pulmonary arterial pressure changes post-CCM implant
  • Clinical outcomes of CCM therapy:
    • Impact of different techniques to lead placement/location on CCM therapy efficacy*
    • Efficacy of CCM therapy on right sided heart failure symptoms in patients with bilateral heart failure
    • Efficacy of CCM therapy in special heart failure population where there is an unmet medical need (e.g. TTR cardiac amyloidosis, Chagas disease)
  • Multicenter clinical data of CCM therapy on heart-failure hospitalization

* Refer to IFU for lead placement recommendations
