“In August 2008, I was admitted to the hospital with breathing problems. The doctors diagnosed a heart attack. More detailed tests showed that my heart’s performance was down to 20%. There wasn’t really much hope, they said.

The Optimizer is a proprietary device similar to a pacemaker. It uses three leads that are anchored to the heart, where they deliver special signals which acutely and chronically strengthen the heart muscle and make it contract more forcefully, explains Mannheim hospital cardiologist, Dr. Juergen Kuschyk.
Patients with an Optimizer implant can experience remarkably increased cardiac performance. Some of our patients implanted with an Optimizer had an increase of 25% or more, he adds. It is particularly impressive that we can not only measure the change in various parameters, but we can actually see the change in the patient himself, when previously bedridden patients resume an active life – ride a bicycle, go mountaineering, etc.
